Baobei: The Things We Carried
These are the things we found precious enough to carry with us from Guizhou. Each one leads back to a person, a place, or a story from our journey.
Paper made by a family carrying nineteen generations of knowledge. Ceramics from Yelang Castle. Indigo cloth made in the mountains. Embroidery. Antique garments. Silver jewelry. Special objects found in markets, homes, villages and workshops. Some are old. Some are new. Many are one of a kind. Together, they became our baobei ~ our precious treasures.
We brought them home because something about each one felt worth carrying forward. Now, they are available to become part of someone else’s story.
Each piece is unique and available in very limited quantities, with many existing only as a single piece.
