Year of the Snake, 2025

Year of the Snake, 2025

In 2025 we celebrate the Year of the Snake on the lunisolar calendar. The Snake symbolizes transformation, renewal, and spiritual growth. We welcome the Snake with wide and open arms, relieved and ready to leave behind the Dragon's destructive flames.

While there are so many unknowns that await us in the Snake year, celebrating the Chinese zodiac is an opportunity to invoke intentions:

~ How can we initiate transformation within ourselves and our communities?

~ How do we renew our values, our practices, our sense of purpose?

~ What can we shed and let go of?

For Ziran this year, we are returning to the core of our ethos. This means smaller collections, focusing on details in design, and being more mindful on what we share. In a world of endless noise and choices, we want each of our offerings to be meaningful, not just another "thing" a brand is trying to push. So that means we are slowing down. We will still be creating, dropping new products, and telling stories... but on our own timeline. And from a place echoing the meaning of Ziran: natural, spontaneous, and free.

To celebrate the Year of the Snake, my family and I visited our friend and artist Amanda Lynn's home - a literal forest fairy haven - in the tiny town of Forestville, CA. Amanda is Mama to an albino ball python named Kwasimoto... the star of our shoot! Simrah Farrukh photographed our family portrait-style, and we're so happy to share these images with you. The garments we're wearing are new. Kelly hand embroidered the snake on Meilu's shirt and the skirt Kelly wears was custom made by Grace Land in Queens, New York. The other garments will (eventually) be available on the site.

May the Snake bring you transformation in many layers. May you shed what is no longer serving you and welcome renewal. May you enjoy prosperity and good health in this new year. We love you! Thank you for slithering along with us.
大家新年快乐!
