Mothers Day 2026
She became a Mama 37 years ago, birthing me by a c-section.
Three decades later, I followed in her footsteps, my body opening the same way.
Perhaps these scars mirror motherhood. Complicated, deep, forever. It changed us to the core. In every laugh, tear, inhale and exhale. Soaring highs and brand-new lows.
These marks become something else over time. No longer wounds, but reminders. Yes, of a traumatic experience being literally cut open… but also that infinite joy and love can follow deep pain. A reminder that resonates in every facet of life. The lotus must bloom from mud.
So now we sit together... Lao Lao, Mama, and Mei Mei… 3 different generations but forever connected by the same... yea, stitch.
Will Meilu follow in our steps too? I don’t know, but we hold her close. Surely she will find her way ~
Happy Mama Day 🪷
